Blessing Identity Statements and Courageous Conversations
“One of the most meaningful things was watching Mr. Hogan lead a couple through blessing each other with a blessing identity statement. The couple stood in the front, and Mr. Hogan led them through the process as they looked up the meanings of their names. They then used the name meanings to bless each other. The best part was that the husband’s name is Leroy. Mr. Hogan looked it up and it means ‘Noble One’. Can you get more perfect than that considering that the workshop was on being a noble man/woman?!! As the couple blessed each other, they were obviously deeply moved. After being blessed by his wife, Leroy couldn’t help exclaiming ‘Wow!’
“It was also amazing to see the parents learn how to have ‘courageous conversations’ and work through the pressing issues in their relationships. It was very healing for those who came. One monumental thing was to hear the men confess their weaknesses when it comes to driving. One man even broke a family secret that had been hidden for 8 years! He told about the time that he and his family were returning home from Dallas to Oklahoma City when his wife said, ‘Honey, if the sun is setting on my side of the car, doesn’t that mean we are going to Mexico?’ He blew up, and refused to admit that he was driving south instead of north, even though the sun was providing all the evidence needed. It was a funny story, but I think it was wonderful to see the families open up and share their weaknesses and find rest as they saw how they could all relate to each other.”

Powerfully Practical and Pertinent
“The material presented by Chris Hogan and Dewey Novotny was powerfully practical and pertinent. Just today I would have normally responded to a situation with my normal wrong reaction. However, God helped me stop and apply what we learned. Our sixteen year old, Daniel, said ‘Come, Call and Clothe’. By clothing with mercy and a listening heart, his little sister must have felt safety and ‘air’. God worked in her heart to make some needed and wonderful choices.”

Discovering Vision and Purpose
“Chris Hogan assisted us parents in ‘discovering purpose vision for our lives.’ We began the process of writing vision and purpose statements for our lives. He was stimulating as well as practical. This was not goal setting, but more discovering who God made you and understanding what he wants to do through you! For us, it was a significant time! As today is our 22nd anniversary, I am seeking to steal away with my honey and I look forward to using some of the time to finalize our vision statements.”

Communicating Effectively
“My way of thinking was changed by the things he shared. I can’t wait to use these principles of communication with my children.”
