12 Key Questions Every Child Asks Themselves While Doing Chores

  1. Do I know what is expected of me?
  2. Do I have the materials and equipment I need to do these chores right?
  3. Do I also have the opportunity to do what I do best every day?
  4. In the last seven days, have I received recognition or praise for doing good work?
  5. Do my parents seem to care about me as a person?
  6. Do my parents encourage my development in the things I’m interested in as well?
  7. Do my opinions seem to count?
  8. Does our family mission and purpose make me feel like my contributions are important?
  9. Are my parents and brothers and sisters committed to doing quality work?
  10. Do my family members want to be best friends?
  11. In the last six months, have my parents talked to me about my progress?
  12. This last year, have I had opportunities at home to learn and explore the areas of my interests?

These questions were adapted from the book “First, Break All The Rules” by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman This is a wonderful book based on twenty five years of research by the Gallup Organization on the topic of management._
