The Parson's Inn Story
Here is an exciting response to the priority initiative of developing a Family Support Network, which consists of Home Ministry Centers operating around the World. This is from a family who has been developing their home into a ministry center for the past nine years and are having an impact on the kingdom of God. My desire is to provide an array of ideas and best practices on which we can all draw in order to make our homes effective ministry centers for the purpose of refreshing the saints and giving light to the world around us.
We are looking for articles from families who have developed best practices in their home to make it a ministry center. A best practice is an idea God has given and you have implemented into your home. Please feel free to send your articles to Lydia Collin at lcollin@iblp.org.
Dear Staff,
We have been encouraged by the information we have been receiving from the Institute in Basic Life Principles about Home Ministry Centers and the Family Support Network. We are so excited because that is what the Lord called us to become in 1997. We began our search for a large home where we could have people in, to minister the gospel to them. Our “George Mueller” type adventure has now led us through nine years of adventure. We are now showing the Basic Seminar to families in our home on a regular basis.
The beauty of having it in our home is beyond words. We serve meals and are able to accomodate up to four families if they need lodging. Right now there is a couple from the community that is going through the seminar who have no former knowlege of the Lord. Everything is going to be new to this couple. We are hoping to be able to lead them to Lord as they proceed through the seminar.
We have written a book about the incredible and miraculous journey the Lord has taken on as we began the “Parson’s Inn”. It is called “Miracle in the Making”. The book protrays the transparent, often humbling venture of our family as we believed God, held onto a dream and overcame tremendous obtacles on the path to obeying God’s will for our lives. If you would be interested in reading our story or making the book available
to other ATI families, we would be delighted to share it.
In Our Master’s Service,
Jan McKay
